Six Apart – Tokyo Office

Have you ever wondered where the the web services Typepad, Moveable Type, Vox and LiveJournal were born? Well, if you had, the answer is San Francisco, and their mother was Six Apart. But in honor of today being the Wednesday, I decided to take us on a trip across the Pacific Ocean to Japan where weblogging is growing exponentially. Six Apart’s presence in Tokyo has helped fuel the growth by providing blogging platforms that fit many different needs. There are currently around 12 employees working at the office which probably doesn’t need lighting due to its bright white walls.

Hate to be late to the party here, but I just need to point out that LiveJournal was not born at Six Apart, but they actually bought it. It was born out of Brad Fitzpatrick’s personal blog and eventually the company he founded, Danga’s.
