Facebook’s Wall Art

July 20th, 2007 by Stephen

Facebook LogoFacebook, the social networking site which is booming right now, has some pretty amazing art on their walls. The artist’s name is David Choe (shown in the first image) who is a part of Outer Edge Studio. This stuff is awesome, though if I were working next to it, I would not get anything done because I would be looking at it all the time. Luckily for Facebook’s employees, it looks like most, if not all of it is not near work areas.

I first found these images through digg, which linked here.

Meebo HQ - Under Construction

July 19th, 2007 by Stephen

Meebo LogoMeebo is an awesome web service I use all the time. It is basically instant messaging, but it allows you to combine your friend lists into one place. It supports all the major IM protocols, so whatever fever you have, it has the matching prescription. I should also mention that it does all of this from within the web browser.

Their office is located in downtown Mountain View, CA, which is home to many technology companies these days. Their old offices were also in Mountain View, but more space was needed. Currently, Meebo has about 15 employees, with several interns, so it is obvious to see that it was a wise move. The move itself occurred around October of 2006, so by now their office is done, I just don’t have the pictures of it yet..

Jaiku HQ

July 18th, 2007 by Stephen

Jaiku LogoJaiku is headquartered in Finland’s capitol city, Helsinki. The service which is one of the so-called micro-blogging platforms has become very popular. Leo Laporte, the king of the popular podcast TWiT, uses the service and has been very pleased. While there are other competitors in this market, namely Twitter and Pownce, each does something a teensy bit different. Sure, those other services are going to have a large following here in the states, but they most likely will not dominate in the European market. Actually, don’t listen to anything I just said, because quite frankly, I just made it up. What you can count on though, are a few pictures of their offices. Finding pictures that aren’t *All rights reserved* is sometimes difficult, so these will have to do.

Mozilla - Mountainview HQ

July 18th, 2007 by Stephen

Mozilla LogoMozilla is the company that has ushered forth such stuff as Firefox and Thunderbird. I use Firefox, so I am basically in love with them. The company has offices in several other cities besides Mountain View, like Beijing and Toronto, but due to lack of pictures of the other locations, I had to begin here. I don’t really have an idea for how large the building is, but it must be decently sized to hold all of the employees shown in the gallery below. Look for Mozilla to keep growing and expanding their office due to the explosive growth of Firefox.

There should be a few more pictures, but these galleries treat portrait pictures like junk, so until I find a better gallery I will have to stick with only landscape ones.

Six Apart - Tokyo Office

July 18th, 2007 by Stephen

logoHave you ever wondered where the the web services Typepad, Moveable Type, Vox and LiveJournal were born? Well, if you had, the answer is San Francisco, and their mother was Six Apart. But in honor of today being the Wednesday, I decided to take us on a trip across the Pacific Ocean to Japan where weblogging is growing exponentially. Six Apart’s presence in Tokyo has helped fuel the growth by providing blogging platforms that fit many different needs. There are currently around 12 employees working at the office which probably doesn’t need lighting due to its bright white walls.
