New Gallery Tutorial
August 31st, 2007 by Stephen
I wanted to give a quick explanation of all of the features of the gallery system we just installed here. If you were wondering what script it uses, it is called Highslide. I use a wordpress plugin to implement it, which is called WP-Highslide.
Features:
- Click to enlarge – Yeah, this is pretty self explanatory, but I figure that I should mention it anyway.
- Left/Right Arrow Key Navigation – Once you enlarge a thumbnail, you do not have to click anymore. You can simply use the arrow keys to enlarge the next/previous image. This also minimizes the image you were looking at.
- Moveable Images – I really don’t know why you might want to do this, but you can. Just click and drag an image once it is enlarged anywhere in the browser window.

nice plugin – i like it – but theres one thing: it should be able to separate which topic you are looking at. If you klick on one of the three demo pictures and use the arrow keys to go to the next pic, you suddenly after the last picture are being redirected to the pictures of the topic above. you shoulkd build in some kind of stopper or there could appear some kind of “introduction-screen” that takes you to the next topic!
