Fuzz HQ

October 26th, 2007 by Jose

Fuzz LogoYou’ve probably never heard of Fuzz. But it’s a pretty neat little music company in the Dogpatch area of San Francisco. It’s basically a music community for artists and fans, and you can do music-related stuff there: listen to music, sell your music, blog about music… you get the picture.

The office is really casual (”cas” to those in the know). Cinderblocks, IKEA furniture, mini-fridges, beer… it’s half bachelor-pad, half start-up. And there’s lots of guitars. Because it’s a music company.

Stephen’s Note: These were all taken during my visit to SF a couple months ago. Jose (this post’s author) also works at Fuzz, but whatever. I just wanted to be sure everyone knew that.

Rankaholics HQ

October 25th, 2007 by Stephen

Rankaholics LogoRankaholics is a community driven by rankings. You are able to create lists and polls for all of your favorite things, or simply discuss or rank them. Rank anything from television shows to websites and print media one day, then discuss top celebrities and rate the largest buildings in the world the next. The service however, is currently only offered in German.

The office has about 14 employees, with only 4 working specifically on Rankaholics. They are headquartered in Mitte, the most central region of Berlin in Germany. The space looks pretty clean (except the pile of rubbish) and efficient. I think my two favorite things are the office mascot and the awesome couch.

Macromedia Flash HQ

October 17th, 2007 by Stephen

macromedialogo.gifAlrighty, lets take a trip in the time machine back before Adobe purchased Macromedia. Macromedia originally created many of the creative tools at use in today’s world. One of the most prevalent was Flash, which allowed it’s users to create animations that were chock-full of interesting features that could be used for all kinds of different uses.

These pictures are from 2003 and show a pretty clean and work-friendly environment. My personal favorite part of this office is not the interior look, but instead the brick facade on the exterior.

Sorry for the Hiatus

October 17th, 2007 by Stephen

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to let you know whats going on here at Office Snapshots.   I recently began teaching history at a local middle school here in southern California.  Naturally, a job like this takes up a lot of time, but this is especially the case being a first-year teacher.

As far as posting is concerned, we will be posting regularly, though probably not as often as it has been in the past.  Hope you all understand!

…and there is a post coming out in about 15 minutes.

Thanks for reading,

Stephen Searer
