Songbird’s Nest (HQ)

November 16th, 2007 by Stephen

Songbird LogoEven though humans generally call a headquarters a headquarters, birds call them nests. And so do humans that work for companies named after birds. Keep that in mind if you ever work for one. This nest is located in downtown San Francisco, and looks like a great space, even though it isn’t made out of woven sticks.

Songbird is an open source media player combined with web browser, that is powered by Mozilla. For people looking for an alternative to iTunes or Windows Media Player, it comes highly recommended. While the current version is only at 0.3, a developers preview, it is still pretty cool to take out for a spin. One of my favorite features is the ability to browse for music on the web, and then play it directly from inside the media player.

Zazzle HQ (set 1 of 2)

November 15th, 2007 by Jose

Zazzle LogoZazzle may be last alphabetically, but it’s at the top of the customized-goods industry. With Zazzle, you can design your own shirts, mugs, calendars, hats, bumper stickers, greeting cards, and even stamps. And if you think other people would like your stuff, you can even make a buck by selling it. If making money isn’t your thing, don’t worry, it’s fun enough just to create the stuff.

Zazzle’s brand-new offices are located in Redwood City, CA. Instead of cubicles, they have art. Genius! And the view looks great, too. If I could customize my own office on Zazzle, it would look like this.

Stephen’s Note - I will post the second half of the images tomorrow, there were so many awesome ones that I wanted to show them all.

Raincity Studios HQ

November 14th, 2007 by Stephen

Raincity Studios LogoRaincity Studios is a creative web development and design team based out of Vancouver, BC. They are a high respected group that has done work for many big names including Kelly Clarkson, Warner Bros., Ask a Ninja, and even Ozzy Osbourne. It’s pretty obvious that this isn’t just some garage design team.

Alongside their impressive portfolio, RCS has offices to match. While they haven’t spent millions on the latest office fashion doodads, it still looks great, while offering what looks to be a very cozy, efficient atmosphere. If I knew anything about web design, I would definitely want to work here.

Netvibes - Paris HQ

November 9th, 2007 by Stephen

Netvibes LogoNetvibes‘ headquarters in Paris is a bit different than what we have featured before. For one, it is it’s own space, not one combined with several other companies. Second, it is not huddled in a small space of cubicles. The open nature of the office looks a bit more inviting, while obviously offering more room that their San Fran space.

That being said, the Paris office has the most important thing any business can have; a tall pile of boxes. Many companies rise but ultimately fall because they lack the essentials, Netvibes however, has them.

Beecom HQ

November 8th, 2007 by Jose

Beecom LogoWith a logo like that, you know Beecom means business. Beecom, headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, is a software boutique that develops custom webapps for other companies. And do they also do consulting, hosting, and business process outsourcing? Why yes, yes they do.

Despite that cold logo, Beecom’s offices are very welcoming. Cozy, even. Note the warm lighting, the earthy tones, and the deciduous trees outside. Really, though, it’s the Guns n’ Roses banner that brings it all together.
