Virb HQ

January 10th, 2008 by Jose

Virb LogoToday we’re taking a look at Virb, which just happens to be one of the prettiest sites in the whole World Wide Internet. It’s a close second to Office Snapshots. Anyways, this music and film community has been around for a couple of years, and is brought to you by the fine folks who created PureVolume.

We don’t take you to Massachusetts very often, and it’s a shame, because apparently the offices are quite nice there. Full of light, dual widescreen Apple monitors, and Izze soft drinks. And booze. And the type of fire escape you’d see in Batman. Kudos to Virb for being pleasant to look at, on the web and IRL.

Techcrunch HQ/Michael Arrington’s House Video

January 9th, 2008 by Stephen

Techcrunch LogoFor those of you that haven’t heard of Techcrunch, its huge tech blog, and Michael Arrington is the guy that runs it. Now that the introductions are over, the premise of the video is that some entrepreneurs from Fleck.com decided break into Michael Arrington’s house some morning and wake him up with coffee and a bagel. They also wanted to pitch a product. Lots of laughing and white suits ensue.

Click here to read about the encounter on Wired.

***Special Note - I don’t think this is actually where Techcrunch is headquartered from, but close enough :)

Ekaabo HQ

January 9th, 2008 by Stephen

Ekaabo LogoEkaabo is all about communities. If you are looking into developing an online community, Ekaabo is the place to go. One of their latest projects is a search engine that will work across all registered communities, called Communipedia. Though it is not fully completed, they are planning to launch this spring.

The office is located in Weinheim, Germany (NW of Stuttgart). They currently have 15 employees and 1 foosball table, which is a great ratio. Not even Google can boast such an impressive ratio. The company also looks very community oriented, which is must be a great atmosphere to work in, especially when engaged in their specific task.

Microsoft HQ

January 8th, 2008 by Jose

You might not like Microsoft, but admit it, we’re lucky they exist. Where would we be without Word, or Excel, or Halo? In a less productive, less fun place, my friends. And today we are taking a look at the place that makes it possible: Microsoft’s headquarters in Redmond, Washington, where over 30,000 of their employees work.

The psychedelic mural in the lunch area is pretty sweet, and the lake’s pretty nice. We’re spoiled by all the pictures of Google, etc., but there’s nothing to complain about. The kitchen looks great, there’s foosball and a pooltable, and comfy seats. If it is a “velvet sweatshop”, and least it’s plush velvet.

Bonus points: spot the Macs!
