tellme logoLet me tell you about Tellme. Tellme is somewhere between your own personal concierge and calling (the permanently useless) 411. You call Tellme on your phone and ask something — sport scores, movie times, stock quotes, local businesses, etc. — and you can either hear the results or have them sent to you via text message.

In a world where the Internet is in most people’s pockets, this technology seems like it might be a little late. But then again, not everyone has an iPhone, and so using your voice to get information may just be a smidge faster for some. Plus, it’s backed by Microsoft, so it won’t go down without a fight.

Something else Microsoft is good for: buying you sweet red phone booths. If that isn’t an entrance to the Ministry of Magic, I’ll eat my hat.
