IZEA Office

July 24th, 2008 by Jose

izea logoSometime soon, we might do a normal “just another day at the office” post about social media marketing company IZEA. That day is not today. No, today we are looking at a contest that was seemingly conceived and executed solely for Office Snapshots’ voyeuristic pleasure: The Cubico Loco competition.

While their Spanish translation skills might be suspect, their creativity certainly is not. How clever is the Rubiks’s Cubicle? Very. How genius is that bathroom cubicle? Extremely. And just look at that Mexico cubicle, complete with cactus, sombrero, and even a Mexican puppy. IZEA, if you’re listening (reading), I strongly suggest you make this a weekly contest. It’s good for… productivity. Yeah. That’s it. Productivity.

Wanna make your cubicle all crazy? Look for something at IZEA here.

Slicehost Office

July 23rd, 2008 by Stephen

Slicehost is a hosting company built for developers, by developers that know what developers want. I wish I could get into the nitty-gritty of what those specifications are, but I literally know nothing about servers or hosting, besides of course, the fact that I have to pay to keep my website turned on. Luckily for you (the potential customer), Slicehost has been growing explosively and receiving rave reviews by their customers.

The company is located in downtown St. Louis, and looks to be pretty neat. The first thing I noticed is that the layout is simple; a long hallway with an elevator at one end and desks and a lounging area at the other. The view is great, the vases are great, and the conference area is great, but one thing is missing…tapestries. Also, that elevator would be creepy at night.

Oodle Offices

July 21st, 2008 by Stephen

If you’re anything like me, you enjoy looking for great deals for stuff in the classified ads, but hate searching through every classified source on the planet. Oodle aims to solve that problem by aggregating and organizing millions of listings from around the internets. Oodle also has many other things like real estate, jobs, and even personal ads.

Oodle is located in San Mateo, CA and has a great looking office with an amazing rooftop patio. One of the things I appreciate most, besides the Oodle loves Office Snapshots sign, is the balance between workspace and relaxing space. Too much of either can stifle or distract employees making work a difficult task.

Gaia Office

July 17th, 2008 by Jose

gaia logoPerhaps you know about Gaia. Perhaps you even use Gaia. Perhaps. But if you’re old enough to buy your own smokes, then you probably don’t. For those that are on the young side of 18, though, it’s a pretty big deal. Gaia is one of the most popular social networks for the teen crowd, with over 5 million unique users a month.

The fine people who work at Gaia really seem to love their video games. Even more than that though, they fricken adore their Skittles. Look at all those Skittles! Have you ever seen so many Skittles? No, you haven’t, you liar. You’ve never seen so many Skittles.

Maybe you’d like to work at Gaia. Go here.

I’m Back

July 16th, 2008 by Stephen

Hi Everyone! Just wanted to let you all know that I’m finally back home from Rwanda. Had a great time there, but it is good to be back. My inbox is packed with submission requests and contact emails, so I’ll be working hard to reply to everyone and then get that content passed on to you.

Thanks!
Stephen
