Box.net Headquarters
August 29th, 2008 by Stephen
If you know what a box is and you know what the internet is, then you should have a pretty decent mental picture for what Box.net does. Basically they offer online storage that you can access from anywhere, share with anyone, backup any documents to, while washing/waxing your car (your account may not have the car-washing feature).
Box.net is newly located in Palo Alto, CA (home of yummy frozen yogurt place Fraiche), and is definitely in the running for best looking building on Office Snapshots. The box logo looks great above the arches and on the white background. The interior of the office has a lot of empty space to grow into (Go here for Box.net openings). The move looks like it has given the company a new and refreshing place to call home that the employees are visibly happy about. That and the fact that they are drinking beer.

Curmudgeon moment:
But it is just a big box full of Ikea furniture? How is that best-looking?
/Posted from a big box full of Ikea furniture, but I wish it was cooler.
PS: What kind of tech company buys Coors Light for an office party?

@ Brian
I think the exterior is one the best I’ve seen yet, but you’re right, the interior is pretty classic for a tech company these days. Probably 75% of companies we’ve shown in Silicon Valley have those ikea tables.

Yeah, I’m just bitching because I haven’t seen any ideas worth stealing.
What I’m really hoping to do is find someplace that manages to give people quiet contemplation for work but also lets us get together at the drop of a hat for consultation.
I don’t have any good ideas, which is why I’m hoping to find them here.

I think one of the best examples I’ve seen of private offices for contemplation is probably Freshview.
