In case you hadn’t noticed, watching moving pictures is one of the modern world’s favorite pastimes. Creating video content is also very popular, but taking time to transfer video onto your computer, and then upload it to your favorite video hosting site can be a pain. On top of that, all that time spent meant that live video is impossible. Qik is the answer. With its patent-pending method (aka magic wizard potion), they can take video from your mobile device and stream it instantly to the web so people can watch what you do right then. They also save the video for your viewing pleasure later.
Their offices are located in Redwood City, CA and occupy a nice expansive room with great lighting and a good number of workstations. The high ceilings really give the place a great feel as well. The office is equipped with a nice little gaming and entertainment corner, and of course has a Google tent. Special thanks to
Daniel Brusilovsky for these images.

Elevator Up is a small company out of Zeeland, Michigan that delivers hosting and design for small- to medium-sized companies that desire great-looking and functional web applications.
Their offices are located in a newly renovated clock factory that really adds some great history and character to the place. The company often allows people to come in and work from their offices; treating it like a coworking space, which is becoming increasingly popular. I am always partial to wood floors, but they also have some great color and natural light that really make the space come alive.

Barcelona is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, but we have never featured an office from there. Until now, that is. Introducing Softonic! Softonic is a website that provides free, safe downloads to users around the world. Their office houses over 150 employees from 18 different countries across two very nicely designed floors in downtown Barca.
If these images are any indication, Softonic’s employees are very happy people. They have beautiful views all around, a nap room (complete with calming aquariums), comfy couches, massage chairs, fun/inspiring quotes in every room, and an amazing video game setup. We’ve seen a lot of companies, but these guys take their fun more seriously than almost anyone else we’ve seen. What are those eight remotes on the left in the last image? I have no idea, but they look very entertaining.

Microsoft is a company that we have briefly featured before, but today’s post gives a much better look at a specific wing of the Microsoft corporation; Microsoft Startup Labs.
Before writing this post, I hadn’t heard of it, but am now intrigued. The MSL team is currently working on several projects like Meshlists, Collaborative Crossword, Corkboard, and CrowdVote. As you can tell, the theme of their projects all revolve around social productivity. The group is staffed by industry veterans and fresh startup minds ready to tackle their challenges.
Their offices are pretty great given the normal perception of what working at Microsoft might be like. This space has a lot of natural light, employee desk space, and a great bi-level layout. I personally like the circular, windowed meeting room for no other reason than that it reminds me of Rip Torn’s office in Men in Black. The smooth lines of the space are very appealing as well. Microsoft Startup Labs is located in Cambridge, MA just outside of Boston and is just one of the teams located at Microsoft’s New England Research and Development Center.
