No, the offices aren’t made of chocolate. That would be impractical (although delicious). Dobla makes chocolate. Not just any chocolate, though; they make really nice, fancy chocolate for competitions and intricate, delicious desserts. They sell chocolate shaped like all sorts of things, and I’d like to eat almost all of them.
Dobla’s office was created by the talented design firm Pactor, one of our favorites here on OS. It looks like it really is made entirely out of dark chocolate and white chocolate, which probably makes visitors pretty hungry. Luckily for them, there are plenty of things to eat on those shelves. They better be free samples. Because I ate them.

If you’re anything like me, you could kill easily a deer in the wild, it’s just that you don’t have enough time to actually go hunting, let alone to clean it and then to mount its smiling face on the wall. Bucky, the large cardboard deer trophy designed and manufactured by Cardboard Safari™ is the perfect office decoration solution for all of us. And to top it off, Cardboard Safari has agreed to give a Large ‘Bucky’ Deer Trophy, in white, brown, or camouflage to one of our lucky readers.
All you have to do is leave a comment with why you think you should win it, and you are entered to win.
RULES: Contest only open to people with a valid US postal address. Winner will be selected randomly from the comments. Commenting more than once does not help your odds, but you are free to leave additional funny comments as I enjoy laughing. Winner will be announced on Tuesday.
Located on the northwest coast of Spain lies the city of A Coruña. Within this city lies ones of the most interesting examples of interior architecture we’ve ever seen here at Office Snapshots. Novan & Vesson is both the architect and client for today’s post, and have they ever given us something to talk about.
Beginning with the exterior of the building we get very enticing and aesthetically pleasing thoughts in our head, which is surely important branding for any architecture firm. As we continue inside, our senses continue to be stimulated as there are lots of new and different features to view. The furnishings are all very non-traditional including the jagged desk and wooden-slatted stool chairs. This is all intermixed with exposed brickwork, lovely white walls and accents, doors where no doors are needed, and freestanding mid-room sinks.
Alright, my senses are awake. What do you all think of this space?
As you know, we’ve been posting pictures of offices for over 2 years now, and that of course will not ever change. We do want to introduce you to some site enhancements that you are sure to notice popping up around here.
1. Company/Job Information – Powered by Glassdoor.com
The biggest enhancement to Office Snapshots will be our partnership with Glassdoor.com to provide company and job specific links to each office post. The basic idea is that if we do a post about Google, you will be seeing links that will provide you with information about what its like to work there or what salaries are like for employees at Google.
If Glassdoor doesn’t have any company-specific information, there will be a link to jobs related to that company’s industry. So a webdesign company would have a link to webdesign jobs.
Overall, we’re happy because it adds additional information for you, while not detracting from our main purpose of showing you the interiors of workplaces around the world.
These postings will be located at the bottom of each post.
2. Product Listings
We’ve also begun placing product listings at the end of some posts to connect you with the great products in our featured offices. The main companies we will be listing are Steelcase, Herman Miller, Blu Dot, HON, and IKEA.
There are a bunch of other companies, but I just don’t always have the time or knowledge to research them all so I can know the exact model of chair is in each post just by seeing it.
That being said, I’ve been trying to collect the information from our submitters whenever possible.
3. More Indexes
It took us a while to have a company index and location index, but those have exploded in popularity lately. The company index has actually our most viewed page over the last several months.
We are currently working on a designer index that will list the architecture firms and design companies that design many of our featured offices.
We will also be featuring more coworking offices and will have a separate index to list those spaces as they don’t really fit inside of the regular company index.
When the advertising agency J. Walter Thompson decided to rebrand themselves as JWT, they decided that it was important to have a unique and functional office space to match. Well, what they and Clive Wilkinson Architects came up with is not only functional, but very, very unique.
Their New York office space takes up nearly 250,000 square feet houses somewhere around 1000 employees. In an effort to keep creative harmonies maximized, this space has no private offices, but instead areas where groups of creative minds can assemble in both large and small numbers. As you can see, the office has a number of bright colors, as well as a ’storytelling’ theme woven throughout. You see, JWT doesn’t want to just create advertisements, they want to create stories that people can interact with.
Beyond all of the big ideas and themes, the space has some really fun elements from the space invaders wall, to the thin wall with the story cutouts flopping all over. They also have padded ceilings that you’d be crazy not to love. They also seem to have a bar that was designed in space, or at least the future. You know, that place where people wear those silvery outfits. Enjoy the pics and video.
