A Couple Questions About Office Snapshots

I’m trying to get a better feel for what our readers like and would like to see on the site, so here are a couple polls.

One is regarding my recent change to the gallery style, with larger images in the post that are still zoomable. The second deals with the possibility of more content, but of a different variety that we typically post.

Yeah, I love seeing image sets from small startups, what interesting touches they’ve done to their spaces.

Include your full posts with images in the RSS feed, you’ll get more traffic by being open

hey james, we’ve considered doing that, though technically it was more difficult than just clicking the ‘entire feed’ button. because of the gallery method we use, it displayed the small 75×75 thumbnail in the feed.

i haven’t tried yet, but that was part of my reasoning for the larger thumbnails in posts, so that the full feed would display larger images

With regard to displaying home offices among the traditional offices…. I think any home office would need to be uniquely elaborate to be worthy of the main front page. However, it would be a great idea to throw them up with less discretion at a subdomain like you mentioned (ex. home.officesnapshots.com).

Here’s an idea:

Can you do something along the lines of what SEOmoz.org does? ….They have the main blog which has a HUGE following and then a user-submitted / influenced blog that enables users to contribute and vote content up… to a point that you would take note and “promote” the post to the main blog as a reward for generating such interest and/or value.

I am sure there is some way you can modify this concept to fit this website.

Either way, I am addicted to this blog just like everyone else here…. so you won’t lose me regardless of what you do.

I think the important thing is that the quality of the offices is good. When I start seeing crappy home offices I get turned off and officesnapshots.com ranks a little lower for me as a whole.

I would love to see more independent/smaller firms and more studio-type offices, not just for regular companies but for more creative people. Maybe architecture/design studios, art studios, etc. would be a great addition to this site.

The problem with the thumb function is that if the images are at different sizes, the next-button jups around. And also, the images moves from left to right when you click next.

I mostley wisit this site on my phone so the big images sugestion is the best one for me. But it looks better on the computer aswell. And you dont have to click all thumbs to se wats on the image.

I voted “Small Thumbnails with Image Enlarging (majority of posts on OS)” but I prefer the Larger ones. Sorry.

And my Anti Virus was always advising me about a virus, but I think it’s already done
