Imagine, if you will, a life without Pitfall!, without Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, and without Guitar Hero. That is bleak world, my friends, and not one I would want to be a part of. So, before I take my own life, let us return to a time and place where we do our darndest to avoid pits, where anyone can skate like Tony Hawk, and where even 5 year olds can shred like Slash.

Activision’s office in Santa Monica is just what you’d expect from a major video game publishing company, what with their motion capture studio, their graffiti walls, and their numerous skateboards and guitars. The best part, though, is definitely the map of LA on the wall of the conference room. I heard that the map is so accurate, it’s actually used as the official LA map on Google Maps. It’s true, I checked on Snopes and everything.
