Applicake’s Newest Office Expansion and Renovation

Applicake is one of the companies that we’ve features numerous times because they are constantly redesigning their space or growing as a company. I’ve enjoyed watching their style progress. This to this to this to today’s post. The latest expansion doubled the size of their office because of their growth to 22 employees.

The new space continues the theme of white walls with beautiful wooden flooring. But has added some flair to the new rooms with some fun wall art. Can’t wait to see what this company does next.

Applicake, the company we posted about here, and here, has another office update for us. If you forgot, they are located in Krakow, Poland and develop different varieties of software.

This new look is pretty wonderful with some great colors against the white walls. The green and berry really pop out. It looks like the company has invested in new seating for the workstation, which look to be a major improvement. If you are going to be sitting at a desk for the majority of the day, you need great seating.

In addition to the seating improvements, the lighting is much better, with more central lighting and less desk lighting. Their track lighting is not only effective, it looks wonderful. Applicake also has a large number of whiteboards for their employees to collaborative lay out ways to solve problems that come up. The lounge area is another great bonus for employees.

Applicake is a company that we covered over a year ago, and in that time, they have made some significant improvements to their office space. They are a software development company located in Krakow, Poland, which is a city I visited in 2005. The company offices are located just down the street from a neat marketplace, which I assume is a place where all the tourists go.

The first significant upgrade you’ll notice is the switch from beanbag chairs to real couches. They have also added some nice decor to the space, making it much more elegant and stylish than the sparse floorplan they had before. You’ll also notice the dog lounging around, which I hear is pretty dang good at Rockband. The developer pit has a similar arrangement as before, but that doesn’t detract at all from the overall improvement of the space. They also have a wonderful street view complete with tasty peppers. mmm.

There are thousands upon thousands of software development companies around the world, so it’s important to distinguish yourself. One pretty awesome way to do that is to name your company Applicake. Then, instead of making regular software, you make delicious software. And put a muffin on your logo! I’m so hungry now.

The office is located in Krakow, Poland, which happens to be the black bean bag capital of Europe. Plus they have plenty of sunlight and a good, old-fashioned water cooler. I miss seeing those.
