TCTV: Tumblr’s HQ Video Tour

To be completely honest, I wasn’t going to post anything for Friday due to sheer laziness. Luckily, I had a hard time falling asleep and decided to read Techcrunch, when lo-and-behold, a video tour was there. Nothing says easy post like putting code into a blog entry window. So, technically speaking I posted 5 offices this week for the first time in ages.

Tumblr is big, and it’s getting bigger every day. We took a look at their New York office a while back, and today we’re looking at their brand new office in the awesomely-named Corrugated Box Building in Richmond, Virginia.

It’s a pretty neat office. They have an orange papier-mâché dog that appears to be peeing on a post. I’m fairly certain I haven’t seen that before. Also, there’s a really cool wicker and string…boulder? Not sure what purpose it serves other than looking awesome. That’s a noble purpose, though.

Tumblr allows its users to create tumblelogs. While I know we would all like to think these are the aftermath of chopping a tree down on too steep of a slope, they aren’t. What they are are the scrapbooks of the internet, giving Tumblers the ability to quickly post media items.

I am a pretty big fan of their office space, and especially those red cubes that are hanging all over the place. Unless of course, they are camouflaged beehives. God, I hate bees.
