Twitter’s Latest Office Move (Version 3)

November 17th, 2009 by Stephen

It’s a new season, and you know what that means, Twitter migrated to new offices. We’ve seen their space a number of times (version 1, version 1 video, version 2), and the company has just kept exploding in size. So naturally, they would need to step up their offices space to meet whatever needs they come upon.

This new space is extremely roomy and open compared to their last couple offices. And by roomy, I mean very roomy, with the different areas being a good 30 feet apart. I’d assume that each one is assigned to a different task, so that spacing could definitely minimize the sounds coming from other work areas. Unless of course, they have one of those loud laughers that keeps getting knee-slappers retweeted to him.

The wall colors and decoration are fun, the carpet is what I imagine carpet looks like when we are all wearing foil for clothes, and the windows are great. Surely, lots of natural light too! The kitchen area looks well stocked, and the common area is so large, all of Oprah’s followers could have a tweetup and have some seats left over. All that said, the space is very plain, which I know for a fact will be the downside people talk about. However, that could easily be because the space is so new, it doesn’t have any of those ‘been worked in’ touches to it yet. As you can tell in a few photos, it looks like it is still being worked on.

The New Twitter Office

August 22nd, 2008 by Stephen

Twitter LogoAs you all know, I made a slight mistake on the location of the Twitter office during my SF visit, which moved to a new location a couple months ago. While I wasn’t able to drop by and snap picture on my own, I was able to acquire a few from the awesome people at Twitter (Thanks Biz and Caroline!).

This office space is literally around the corner and down the street from the old office, but really has an entire different feel to it. First off, instead of being long and multi-level, the new space is much more spacious, light, and open, with an amazing view of the city. I think my favorite feature is James the green buck, whose commanding stature and magical smile fill the office with an aura of joy.

Twitter is Down… ?

August 12th, 2008 by Stephen

As many of you know, I was recently in San Francisco visiting a few companies, one of those being Twitter. Unfortunately for me, Twitter had moved offices and I failed to write down their new address. Luckily, the new occupants of Twitter’s old office space, Get Satisfaction, had put up a clever sign letting passersby know of the change:

Robert Scoble’s Video Tour of Twitter

August 3rd, 2007 by Stephen

Twitter LogoI posted some pictures from inside Twitter a little while ago, but that obviously wasn’t enough to curb Scoble’s appetite. I’m sure he reads this site because everyone knows that I invented showing the inside of buildings. Remember that show Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous with Robin Leach? Well it was actually me, sending blog posts from the future through his mouth.

Oh well, check out the video anyway… Click here if you want to learn who Scoble is.

Twitter HQ (Obvious Corp)

July 24th, 2007 by Stephen

Twitter Logo Twitter, the microblogging/texting/”let everyone know what your doing every second of your day” service, is as far as I know, not its own company. It is owned by Obvious Corp, which is located in San Francisco. Obvious Corp, which also owns Odeo, has a nice multi-level office space that seems to fit their needs just fine. I would assume that this office space is shared by both Odeo and Twitter, but I can’t be sure. Suffice it to say that if it is, I’ll make another post with the exact same pictures, titled as “Odeo HQ (Obvious Corp)” just to double my pageviews from 10 to 20.

Personally, between the Twitter and Jaiku pictures I have seen so far, I like Twitter’s office better. However, Jyri from Jaiku mentioned that they just moved offices, so there could be an office rumble in the works.
