It sounds like they have deals worked out with a bunch of companies offering members to their services discounts. This creates loyalty to the companies offering discounts, as stuff is less expensive through them than anywhere else. Couldn’t tell you if it works, but the company earned somewhere around $800M in 2007.

Their office space is the epitome of the open model. No cubes, no typical organization of the desks, just workplaces tossed around a room with cables coming from the ceiling. Interesting concept if you ask me! Also, love the lobby and conference areas.
