Born in 2001 as a one-man business, we have grown into a design studio recognized for our committment to excellence. We had the pleasure to work on all kinds of projects, from new niche products and services, to complex rebranding processes for big corporations.

The office space is wonderful, probably one of the best creative spaces I’ve seen. One of the things I appreciate is that the space is clean, but also well-detailed, making it homely and comfortable. Instead of bland walls, the space has fun items around to catch one’s attention. Individual workstations are not jammed into one area, but rather mingled in different areas with comfortable group seating areas.

Of course, having a lot of wood makes any space might more visually appealing. While I do spy Ikea seating on one space, the remainder of the furniture seems to be individual pieces or custom items like the conference table. One last interesting feature of the space is the swivel wall/tv in the conference space that creates a useful barrier when in use.

SMOG Offices

Designed by Sebastian Bravo, Chilean design firm SMOG has recently moved into a wonderful office located in Chile’s capital city, Santiago.

The offices contain a ceiling made of wonderful aged wood boards that existed in the building underneath the original boring drop ceiling. The office is open, with desking arranged in rows, and most employees facing eachother. Some however, are against the wall with a nice amount of desk space. The main feature is the conference space; a glass-enclosed cube complete with a conference table, chairs and a good-size tv. This space offer a great focal point for the office, and is also a neat structure that is opposite of the big window that overlooks the city.

Teehan+Lax Offices

Teehan+Lax is an interactive design agency in Toronto that focuses on user experience design and digital marketing. Some of their clients include: Virgin Mobile Canada, Bell, Air Miles, John Hancock, and The Toronto Star.

The offices are located in Liberty Village and are quite superb. They were designed by Roy Banse Design. As you can see, the space is very expansive, with many workstations for the company’s employee base. Desks are arranged in several configurations located throughout the space, and presumably house different teams or departments. Employee workstations are fairly standard for the creative industry, though these actually offer storage, something it seems most creative offices leave out.

The common areas and conference spaces are amazing. The large couch ‘U’ is a very unique element that gives people a nice space for informal brainstorming meetings without the formality of a tabled conference space. However, their enclosed conference space is a wonderful space and focal point for the entrance.

The office also have a great feel to it. Exposed brick of differing shades as well as large wooden beams that are mixed with less organic and more modern elements provide some visual stimulus. The lighting, especially the halo fixtures add a nice touch as well.

Jackrabbit Design Offices

Jackrabbit Design is a full-service strategic design firm that handles everything from web design and seo to branding and graphic design.

The company’s office is located in a renovated brick building, which once was nothing but plain ol’ brick, but has since been transformed into a beautiful design space that resembles a home more than an office. From the outside, it seems like a small and unassuming building, but once inside, the space is a wonderful 2-stories with expansive windows that allow maximum levels of natural light to enter.

The space has normal design workstations against the wall, but has a number of comfortable areas for employees to relax and brainstorm. They also have a full-service kitchen with what seems to be an above average wine-collection; definitely a first for an office we’ve seen. Some standout features include the beautiful wood table on the upstairs level and the fireplace below. The full bathroom, complete with shower, can be a great way to encourage employees to exercise before work without worrying about appearances or being late.

Welcome to Grid/plane, an interactive design company based out of Portland. Portland, if you have not had the opportunity to see before, is home to several of the best looking offices on the site. This space is also shared with Instrument, a web design, development, and strategy company.

After a quick look through the photographs below, you’ll agree that Grid/plane has a very collaborative, but pleasing aesthetic appeal. Employees have very wide workstations with several group working areas; one which features beautiful wooden tables, complete with a handy letter press. The office is very open with plenty of space to spread out, including their large ping-pong room, which opens allowing the sweaty ping-pong air to escape.
