D3 Offices – Complete With Mood-Detecting Color Wall

Located along Avenida Paulista, one of the most important avenues of São Paulo, the today’s space is the new headquarter of D3, a digital producer company that works along with publicity agencies on the production of interactive experiences. Their talent and creativity is definitely on display in this office.

The office is a meager 575 sq ft, making the usage of the space incredibly important. “The rustic treatment of the basic structure is partially covered by the woodworks, carefully designed in order to create different visual effects …every corner of the space instigates the visitors’ eyes to different angles, textures, colors and lighting patterns. Three kinds of wood and different shades of blues, greens and purples were used for the chromatic identity of the space.

The furniture was designed to allow flexibility of usage, reinforcing an invitation to the clients to actively participate on the space reconfiguration. Its layout can be transformed through the relocation of the wheeled furniture, which has been dimensioned to be easily adapted to different needs. As a result the workstations can be constantly rearranged and the space can be configured as a big meeting room, be ready for a video game round or even a movie session.”

An interesting facet of the design is the interactivity of the office. Instead of just being a dormant room, a number of sensors throughout the room detect movement and sound. These signals are then interpreted as colors triangles along the main wall making the room into a “live thermometer of the relationship among people and its environment.”

Stelmat Teleinformatica Headquarters

Stelmat Teleinformatica is a telecommunications company based in Brazil. Their new office building in Cuiabá are a wonderful example of modern design. AboutBlank, the designers, have the following notes about the project:

“The 2500m2 of office area, develops on an open space layout, with a strong relationship with the exterior, and punctuated by external areas with balcony or green roof terraces, contributing to create a better work environment and therefore more productive .

Several technological options give a great emphasis to the building on the sustainability factor. Green roofs, brise-soleil, photovoltaic panels and rainwater reuse, among others, provide great energy efficiency and reduce the usage of resources, fulfilling the company’s goal not only for economic reasons but also for its pedagogic character.”

Predicta Offices

Welcome to Predicta, a Brazilian-based company that enjoys a bustling office in downtown Olimpia, Brazil. The office takes up a large footprint, and has employees spread out over the majority or it in a hybrid cubicle/open layout. The cubicles are not fully enveloping each person giving privacy, but the short barriers at least allow direct sound to be dampened. However, some workstations have a bit to be desired as seen in the video (the circle table).

The common areas offer a variety of comfortable furnishings and views of the city that give employees a chance to relax and gather themselves. Often times, Predicta employees stay after work is over to just spend time with one another.

Samba Tech, a Brazilian online video company, wants to make using online video eash, fast, and accessible for media groups and large corporations. Its technology platform, model-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), all online and on demand, creates custom software for different needs such as Online TV, Corporate Communications and Live Streaming.

Samba Tech’s office is located in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, and has a very pleasant environment. At the entrance, visitors are welcomed but the company logo and a foosball table. Employees share large tables in two main rooms – administrative and IT sectors. All walls are painted with drawings and our values. Another space works as a kitchen and a leisure room, with a fridge full of sodas, a PlayStation 3, a sofa and a lot of cushions where everybody just relaxes and has fun. They also have a Labs room, the perfect space to develop and share new ideas and projects, and a meeting room with a large table and white boards.

Luccaco Office

It’s not really always sunny if Philadelphia. But it IS always sunny in Brazil. And luckily for Luccaco, that’s where they are located. Luccaco is a small studio that specializes in building user-friendly interfaces and API integrations. They’ve worked with some pretty big names, including Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) and the United Nations Population Fund.

The office, located in Curitiba, Brazil, is very pleasant. They have brick walls and a dog! Two points for them. Plus an extra half point for the old-fashioned signs around the office. Two and a half points! That’s pretty good.
