PONS + HUOT’s Futuristic Bubbly Offices

Today’s offices, designed by Christian Pottgiesser for PONS + HUOT.

“The project accommodates the headquarters of two companies in Paris – PONS and HUOT – with totally fifteen executives. Consequently the unit has seven individual rooms for each director and one open-space-office for the remaining eight clerks. In addition there is one (divisible) meeting-room, a common recreational room, a kitchen, rest rooms, and, at the special request of the patron, lush vegetation all over the main space.

The base for the construction was a rotten industrial hall built in the late 19th century with a steel framework typical for the period. It is rumoured that Gustave Eiffel realized it.

To start with, the hall was completely restored. A new self-cleaning glass roof was fitted. The whole substance of the building was put back into the original state.

In fact the project consists of an insertion of a wooden unit in solid oak 1,7 m high, 22 m long and 14 m wide. The entire programme is embodied therein. Each individual workplace is incised into the wooden upper surface and covered by a “telephone’-dome in Plexiglas. The four lateral surfaces contain archives, cloakrooms and the kitchen. Completely embedded in the body are the meeting room, the recreational room and the restrooms. The remaining space is taken up by technical transmission systems (computer, electricity, air condition, heating and water) and also by 18,3 m3 of soil, the bed for eight Ficus Panda trees.

Neither entrance hall nor reception were implemented, since visitors are guided by a peripheral path-system leading to all pertinent rooms. The individual offices are situated on both galleries.”

Everybody knows that in America, we have 52 Mondays in a year. But did you know that in France, they have 53mondays? 53mondays is a Digital Agency that focuses on digital marketing and design as well as community management. And they are located in Bordeaux, France, which is a first for our little website.

53mondays’ six lucky employees work in a converted factory building. The space is full of windows, allowing lots of natural light into the office and helping to conserve energy during the day. The natural fiber flooring is a another nice environmentally friendly touch. This company is so eco-conscious that even the walls are green.

Altaide Offices – Paris

Fact: lavender is the color of job searching. At least in France, anyway. Just look at Altaide. Altaide is a firm that specializes in finding the perfect people for the right tech jobs. Think of them like an outsourced HR department.

Another fact: Paris happens to be the most beautiful city in the world. So, any office that has Paris in the windows has to be amazing. And this one is. The interior design itself is simple, comfortable, and warm, but it’s the exterior that makes the office stand out. Pretty sure most offices don’t have a view of Parisian rooftops from their balcony. Those offices should be ashamed.

If you haven’t heard of Dailymotion, then I’d suggest you stop wearing cardboard boxes on your feet. What, you haven’t heard that clever euphemism before? Well, I’d suggest you stop wearing cardboard boxes on your feet.

Dailymotion lets its users upload various types of videos to share with the entire internet. The office pictured is located in Paris, France, and looks to be an extremely fun place to work. Employees have plenty of space to get their work done, which it seems gets done quite often, because they are always doing wild stuff like posing for photoshoots, hugging each other, putting chairs on desks, and making colorful paper-box characters. The company also has a great spiral staircase, which is not a usual appearance in tech offices.

Nurun – Nancy Offices

Nurun is an interactive web agency dedicated to helping their clients with e-commerce, brand building, and customer acquisition; among a host of other abilities. They have done work for many large, well-known companies such as Phizer, Coach, Louis Vuitton, Home Depot, Nestle, and Colgate.

This particular office is located in Nancy, Francy (France for those of you that enjoy proper spelling). Oddly enough, the wall art characters are actually responsible for the work, to whom, we humans seem merely 2-d. jk. The workspaces seem nicely spaced, and adequately supplied allowing employees to actually get work done. I think that this office also has the most balanced pc/mac ratio I’ve ever seen for a creative-type company.
