SoundCloud, a startup based in Berlin which allows you to share your music anywhere on the web, is the focus of our lens today.

The kitchen area is very nice, the kitchen table is one of my favorite features. The wood floor which runs throughout is also visually pleasing. Employees seem to be grouped by department and have a good amount of desk space to work with.

The company, which employs around 30 people has a wonderful office space with a fantastic view from their windows, and of course a great patio area that not many startups can boast. One of the greatest things of this space is that, it doesn’t look like a startup. Sure, the folding tables give that impression, but the actual office itself has excellent features that a company could easily grow up in.

The New MTV Berlin Offices

While we have posted an MTV office here before, it is nothing compared to the new work of art known as the Berlin MTV office. This space looks great, and while we only get to see the common areas in these images, I’d like to work in an office with these common areas.

The space was designed by Dan Pearlman Architects and has quite a wonderful open feel to it. The colors are bright, they pot, but are also flat and easy on the eyes. The space boasts game areas, large general seating areas under leaf-like woodwork, tons of natural light, and a great looking reception area with a killer logo.

SOUTH & BROWSE Office

SOUTH & BROWSE is reality television production company located in Berlin, Germany. I haven’t personally seen any of the shows they produce, but they sounds pretty promising. Some of the (probably) favorites include Tattoo Attack, Perfekte Party, and Das Model und der Freak (which I think is the German version of Beauty and the Geek).

The office, designed by BERLINRODEO, is located in a 19th century office building, and it features dedicated spaces for editing and for sound recording. The office does an amazing job of being super-modern and chic while still maintaining the feel of the original building. The large windows really give the office a light, open feel, and the view of the neighboring buildings serves as a reminder of the history of the space. The sink in the bathroom, while it may not be the most practical thing in the world, is definitely a unique and interesting feature. Full doors for every stall though: that is both wonderful AND practical.

Tribax Office

Sure, you probably haven’t heard of Tribax before, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t care about who they are and what they do. In a nutshell, Tribax is a community provider, somewhat along the lines of Ning (but without that annoying half a billion dollar valuation). And not unlike me in 2004, they are located in Berlin, Germany.

The office is pretty good. Given a choice between your own office and a room full of beer, I would guess most Germans would choose the latter. These guys did. One thing they didn’t compromise on, though: elk skulls.

Pagekick HQ

For those of you that haven’t heard of Pagekick, it is a German web portal that serves up user-generated content. Users submit and vote on links, articles, blogs, etc. The best stuff is displayed and organized on the front page. The site is currently ‘alpha’, so it only has basic features online.

The office itself is located in Berlin, and really exemplifies what I think of when I think ‘startup’. It only has the basic elements that are necessary at the early stages of building a web company: computers, desks, and black cats.
