Dom Arquitectura Offices

Dom Architectura recently designed their new architecture offices in Barcelona, Spain and had this to say about it:

“The place previously used as a store was completely isolated from the outside. The first action we take, is to open the interior space, both the street and the garden outside, so we designed a completely open iron carpentry without studs, continuous glass, providing natural light throughout the space. All the iron is dark graphite gray painted, the same of the interior furnishings. Across the glass surface is placed inside a dark gray screens, to control the space privacy.

As an Architecture studio, we have some details about the profession, the graphite color of the pencils, the prevailing white color like papers and the wall parallel. The inner wall of the room is very irregular. With the goal of unifying all these folds we propose some horizontal lines that run through the wall, painted with the same gray that the continuous pavement. This allowed us to provide the wall of a plot in a gradient, starting with getting rid continuously and gradually breaking up until the roof.”

The Hub Offices – Madrid

The Hub is an interesting combination of incubator, coworking space, and social entrepreneur hangout. The Hub is a global network, with spaces in a large portion of the world’s largest cities. This space, in Madrid, was created in the footprint of an old garage.

Here is a little bit about the project:

“We set out to create places that borrow from the best of a member’s club, an innovation agency, a serviced office and a think-tank to create a very different kind of innovation environment. Places with all the tools and trimmings needed to grow and develop new ventures. Places to access experience, knowledge, finance and markets. And above all, places for experience and encounter, full of diverse people doing amazing things. We call these places Hubs.”

Oracle – Madrid Office

If there’s one thing that people know about Oracle, it’s that Larry Ellison is the co-founder and CEO, and that he is rich beyond imagination. It’s a pretty good thing for a company to be known for, really. If you’re the sixth richest person in the world, your company must be doing a lot of things right. And it is, especially in the area of database management systems.

Not surprisingly, even though it is based in Redwood Shores, CA, Oracle has offices all around the world. Today we’re looking at their office in Madrid, Spain. It really isn’t anything spectacular, but it does seem quite functional and comfortable. The bright colors add a nice whimsical touch, and they have some sort wacky chair that does I-don’t-know-what. The espresso machine is very nice, too. It looks expensive. I would be afraid to break it. And then Larry would yell at me. Larry didn’t get rich by replacing a bunch of espresso machines, you know.

Idealista Offices – Madrid

For those of our readers that pay attention to the Spanish housing market (probably most of you), you’ll be familiar with the company Idealista.com. Idealista is a portal that reports the latest housing market news for Spain. Their office is located in downtown Madrid, and from what you can see below, has some very appealing features.

As with most news-type offices, the Idealista offices have everyone housed in a bullpen style room, but organized into different teams. Each staff member has two monitors to increase efficiency. The space also contains a room in which people can gather to look at a single magazine page, located nicely at the front of the room. One of the features we don’t see too often is the drop-down cabling to each station of desks. Complete with a bright kitchen, the space is nicely maintained, giving it a very proper and professional atmosphere.

Dinahosting Offices

If for some reason you’ve always wondered where to register an .es domain and didn’t know how to go about doing so, today is your lucky day. Dinahosting helps you register your .es domain, and they provide you hosting for your new purchase.

OK, so maybe Dinahosting isn’t the most exciting company in the world, but their office, located in beautiful Santiago de Compostela, Spain, more than makes up for it. Just look at it. They use shipping containers like most companies use IKEA furniture. They’re all over the place, stacked on top of each other in places. Many of their offices and even their bathrooms are located inside of shipping containers. Even their color scheme is envy-inducing. I think we can all agree, Dinahosting’s office is amazing.
