Adams & Knight Offices

October 23rd, 2009 by Stephen

akftrlogoAdams & Knight is an advertising firm based out of Avon, Connecticut. They work in Advertising (print, tv, radio), PR, and develop interactive solutions for their clients, many of whom are huge name companies like IBM, Spalding, Prudential, and Travelers.

The company is another one that takes pride in the workspace, but has a completely different style than we’ve seen recently. The first thing to notice is that the space has a clear 50’s vibe, complete with a diner, Bob’s big Boy statue, and period decor. The second element worth noting is the impressive conference room located in the heart of the office. Large and roomy, it has some wonderful style and lighting coming from the fixtures and skylight. A third great feature is the 60-seat movie theater that the company uses for training sessions, focus groups, and larger staff meetings.

The office itself is located on the edge of a nature preserve with beautiful trails employees are able to take advantage of.

Paper.com Office

February 27th, 2009 by Jose

paperdotcom logoYou’ll never in a million years guess what Paper.com does. Are you ready for this? Paper.com sells paper. Paper and paper products, to be exact, and they do it from a very comfortable office in the land of milk and honey, New Canaan, Connecticut.

Admittedly, Paper.com’s office isn’t necessarily the most modern office, or the most innovative, but it does seem very, very comfortable. With all that warm lighting, those earthy tones, and the hunting-themed artwork, this office would be a perfect place to take an afternoon nap. I’m getting sleepy just thinking about it.

Geezeo Offices

August 21st, 2008 by Stephen

Every so often, some people are helped out with their finances by winning the lottery, but last I checked, Lady Luck doesn’t like us (which could actually be a good thing if we were talking about the classic short story). Well, for those of us that like to try and keep tabs on our finances and not leave things up to luck, Geezeo has developed a service that makes that easier. Geezeo has tools that helps you see where your money goes, allows you to create and track financial goals, and also learn from the mistakes of others.

The company have been around for a couple years, and has recently moved into a new space. These pictures are from their newly old space, but they give a good picture of what startup life is like. The company is located in Hartford, Connecticut and seems to share an affinity with us for that light blue color. In any case, it will be nice to see what the future has in store for the company (and their office space).

Vertrue Office

May 27th, 2008 by Stephen

Vertrue is a company set out to save you money. It sounds like they have deals worked out with a bunch of companies offering members to their services discounts. This creates loyalty to the companies offering discounts, as stuff is less expensive through them than anywhere else. Couldn’t tell you if it works, but the company earned somewhere around $800M in 2007.

Their office space is the epitome of the open model. No cubes, no typical organization of the desks, just workplaces tossed around a room with cables coming from the ceiling. Interesting concept if you ask me! Also, love the lobby and conference areas.

ESPN Studios

January 15th, 2008 by Jose

ESPN LogoWhen you think about sports on TV, what comes to mind? ESPN (probably). And when you think about sports online , what do you think of? ESPN (probably). Whoah. Very few companies have made the jump from the offline world to the online world as successfully as ESPN has. And it’s little wonder, what with the copious amounts of coverage they give to all sports, from the most popular to the most obscure.

Today we get to take a look at their main studios in Bristol, Connecticut. There are a lot of boring things you’d expect to see at a studio (sound booth, teleprompters, lights), and some things that are a bit less boring (Emmys, shiny metal everythings, a control room that looks like the inside of a UFO). All in all, not too shabby.
