Whenever someone is shopping around for hosting services and wants to treat their data right, perhaps they should think of Datotel. With a name that sounds eerily like ‘Data Hotel’, you know that they will pamper your data more than a company with a name that sounds like ‘Soggy Data Cardboard Box House’. The company is growing and specializes in Private Cloud Computing, Hosted Managed Services and Colocation Services and is located in WingHaven, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis.
The company has a great space with a lot of nice features. The view of the autumn marshland outside is a pretty nice bonus. We don’t even have trees that change color in So Cal (until they die from drought, of course). The interior space was designed around the Herman Miller Resolve System and houses a number of their 38 employees. If I know my Herman Miller desk systems, the desk heights are adjustable which can save some in-desk agony. They also combine assigned desks and hotdesks, allowing some of the employees to seamlessly work at both this location and their datacenter facility.

If you work at an architecture firm, your office is your showroom. It’s your one chance to make an impression on anyone who comes in or passes by. If it’s not your masterpiece, you didn’t try hard enough. Dake-Wells, though, did try pretty hard, ‘cos their office is fantastic. It’s so shiny and clean it looks fake, but this place is just really nice.
Dake-Wells is located in the fine city Springfield, Missouri. The office space is relatively small (only six employees work there), but they certainly know how to use it. It all seems so very spacious and airy and ultra-modern. I think the conference box and the beautiful table inside might be some of the coolest pieces we’ve featured here on Office Snapshots in a while.

Slicehost is a hosting company built for developers, by developers that know what developers want. I wish I could get into the nitty-gritty of what those specifications are, but I literally know nothing about servers or hosting, besides of course, the fact that I have to pay to keep my website turned on. Luckily for you (the potential customer), Slicehost has been growing explosively and receiving rave reviews by their customers.
The company is located in downtown St. Louis, and looks to be pretty neat. The first thing I noticed is that the layout is simple; a long hallway with an elevator at one end and desks and a lounging area at the other. The view is great, the vases are great, and the conference area is great, but one thing is missing…tapestries. Also, that elevator would be creepy at night.

We haven’t been to the Midwest in a while, so today, we’re checking out Two West, an advertising/design/strategy firm located in Kansas City, Missouri. One might think their location might be some sort of impediment, but they seem to be doing pretty well for themselves, seeing as some of their past clients include HBO, Honda, Target, Mattel, and Dreamworks.
Their office is so neat and modern, the pictures look like they came straight out of a liberal arts college information pamphlet. The neatest part by far if the desk in the fifth photo: it’s full of all sorts of doo-dads, knick-knacks, and sundries, including Mr. Bill and that lamp from A Christmas Story. I really want that lamp.

Barkley Advertising is a force to be reckoned with in advertising. It has run campaigns for many big name clients such as Hostess, Lee Jeans, NASCAR, General Electric, and even Coca-Cola. Chances are, if you were to play one-on-one with them in a game of advertising, Barkley would dunk on you.
The company is located in Kansas City, MO and is housed in the old TWA building. The office simply looks like a comfortable place to work in. Not only that, but they’ve got beer on tap. And a rocket.
