This video isn’t a comprehensive tour showing closeups of workstations, but it does give us a good idea of some of the perks that come with being a Microsoft employee, or Microsoftee. The tour is led by a guy that seems like a part-time college resident assistant, in a video that seems like a college recruiting video, but whatever, it does a pretty good job of showing off their campus to potential Microsoft employees.
It shows some highlights of the Redmond, Bellevue, and Seattle office spaces. Enjoy!
A little while ago, we posted the pictures of Tatango, the company that enables group phone messaging for voice and text. Well, they recently added the ability to spy on their employees and steal trade secrets. Just kidding, but you can watch them creepily from the comfort of your own home instead of having to drive your creepster-van all the way to Bellingham.
There’s a sweet new idea raging across the country like a proverbial wildfire, and it’s called coworking. It’s kind of like an office version of a hostel. The idea is to have a large office that is available for anyone to drop by and share on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. Today we’re looking at Office Nomads, a great coworking establishment in Seattle.
Office Nomads is stocked with all the essentials: Internet, conference rooms, printers, coffee, a notary, and, obviously, a bookcase full of board games for when you get sick of working. I think a fun thing to do would be to go to Office Nomads, pay the daily fee for yourself and a couple of friends, and then spend 8 loud hours playing Catchphrase and annoying the other tenants. As you’re getting escorted out, tell them Office Snapshots sent ya.

So, you’d almost think I had forgotten I owned Office Snapshots, but alas, I have not. On with the post!
Have you ever needed to contact a group of people, quickly, but with an sms message and not a sky banner? I know I have, but manually scrolling through my contacts on my phone takes forever. Tatango is one answer to this problem. Tatango allows you to send a message to one number, that will in turn send the message to everyone in your specified group.
The office is in a great looking building that houses the company’s 6 employees. It looks like the office has plenty of light, which would come in handy often as the company is located in Bellingham, Washington. While it is no real surprise, Tatango is another company on the Mac train, which is really taking over the business world. I also love the deck they’ve got to enjoy their tasty snacks.
Today we’re doing something no one has done in a long time: talking about Microsoft’s Zune. We tend to forget, but yes, iPod’s less popular little brother is still around. But he likes emo music and doesn’t talk to anyone, so he only has himself to blame.
The Zune offices are pretty nice. They have a bunch of music related things, such as speakers and things DJs use. The painting is pretty cool, too. I guess maybe I’m just jaded, but when Microsoft tries to be cool, it seems like they’re trying too hard.
