Tellme Office

Let me tell you about Tellme. Tellme is somewhere between your own personal concierge and calling (the permanently useless) 411. You call Tellme on your phone and ask something — sport scores, movie times, stock quotes, local businesses, etc. — and you can either hear the results or have them sent to you via text message.

In a world where the Internet is in most people’s pockets, this technology seems like it might be a little late. But then again, not everyone has an iPhone, and so using your voice to get information may just be a smidge faster for some. Plus, it’s backed by Microsoft, so it won’t go down without a fight.

Something else Microsoft is good for: buying you sweet red phone booths. If that isn’t an entrance to the Ministry of Magic, I’ll eat my hat.

Model Metrics Office

You know all about, salesforce.com, right? Of course you do. You may not know about Model Metrics, though, and that’s one thing I’m about to fix. Model Metrics is kinda like Salesforce.com’s little buddy: Batman to his Robin, Sonny to his Cher (if you will). Basically, Model Metrics builds applications on-demand to help companies get the most out of their CRM system.

This office has surprising amounts of beer and arcade games. With the Newcastle, Fat Tire, and Galaga flowing so freely, I would guess it’s pretty much impossible to get anything done. I bet those computers are just for show, and this is actually just a sports bar.

AboutUs Office

Happy Wednesday! We’re back in Portland today, and let me tell you, today is your lucky day, because we’re looking at AboutUs. AboutUs is a wiki specifically focused on websites, companies, and organizations.

OK, so maybe it isn’t that exciting, but they do have a nice office. They have a nice rug, it’s clean, and has a nice warehouse-y feel. And they are very welcoming. So there you go. A perfectly unoffensive company and office.

POKE NY Offices

If you try to put POKE into a box, you’ll have a difficult time doing so because they are a creative company that really doesn’t have a specific set of services. Sure they do web design, but they also do creative advertising projects. I’d bet they’d even do something they’ve never done before just for the challenge of it.

This NYC based company has a large floor plan that consists of one main room covered in great looking wood flooring. Everyone has a large amount of screen real estate and even some wall space to collaboratively think of solutions as a team. ‘Don’t Give Up’.

MOVE / Integrated Design Offices

MOVE is a design studio that can really work some magic for your company. Their services include logo design and product design. While both are somewhat general areas, one example is that they designed a Point of Sale magazine rack for Soundvenue magazine to help display the zine to potential buyers. They have also done other work from kiosk design to print design.

Their office is pretty straight forward with large individual workstations, giving employees enough room to get creative, but also including a large collaborative workstation, aiding employees in working together and spreading out with large projects. Don’t forget about the big pillows for relaxing time either. Lastly, the company is based out of Copenhagen, Denmark.
