The VKontakte Offices

Located in the heart of the St. Petersburg, Russia’s window to the west, VKontakte has a space that is unique to say the least. VKontakte is essentially Russia’s Facebook.

The office is located in the old Singer Building, which used to be a factory for the sewing company Singer. The has long been renovated into a business building, in which the company has created several rooms that were taken directly out of the Middle Ages. There are not many companies to work for where you can have a meeting next to a skeleton, under a torture rack, and around a table from an evil lair.

That being said, the rest of the office space is fairly normal for modern office standards. White walls, long hallways with groupings of employees. Standard of course, unless you count the roof access and view from the top of the building. Fun stuff. More images and description here.

Tumblr Office – Richmond

Tumblr is big, and it’s getting bigger every day. We took a look at their New York office a while back, and today we’re looking at their brand new office in the awesomely-named Corrugated Box Building in Richmond, Virginia.

It’s a pretty neat office. They have an orange papier-mâché dog that appears to be peeing on a post. I’m fairly certain I haven’t seen that before. Also, there’s a really cool wicker and string…boulder? Not sure what purpose it serves other than looking awesome. That’s a noble purpose, though.

Facebook’s New Seattle Office

Don’t get your hopes up about this post because it is nothing quite like Facebook’s main headquarters, which was designed by the firm o+a. This new space is in buildout stage, and has a lot of growing to do. The space itself is built for engineers, but after seeing Campaign Monitor’s engineering space, I wonder how effective their employees will be.

Regardless, the space has a wonderful view, and has the beginnings of some neat design. The wall coloring and the furniture give the impression that the space will be given a similar, though most likely smaller, makeover as some of the elements are similar. In either case, take this for what its worth, and thanks to Techcrunch for the tip and pics

By now, I don’t know what to call this place or how many times we’ve posted, but if you’ve been with us for a while, you’ve seen several different versions of Twitter’s office space. This post is filled with new, updated pictures that really show the space with quite a bit more decor and life. Added wall decor, pictures, art, ceiling branches, t’s, video games, games….. oh boy do they have a lot of games. Overall, there isn’t much substantial change, but definitely a nice aesthetic adjustment. Enjoy!

The NetCircle Office

The NetCircle claims to have “the best office in the world”. Laughable, right? Wrong. This office is amazing. We’ve seen a whole lot of offices, and this one might really be the best one in the world. Let’s start off with the company, though: The Netcircle specializes in building and growing social communities, handling everything from the development and design to the marketing and managing.

The office, situated in a gorgeous loft in Shanghai, China, and it’s home to 40 of the happiest employees in the world. The top floor looks like the home of Cyberdyne Systems, while the first floor looks like an art gallery. The chandeliers add a lot of character without being over the top, and bright blue lights even keep the stairs from being boring. The best part is probably the garden overlooking the Huangpu River. With its unique benches and beautiful views of downtown Shanghai, it’s a great way to get away from work for a bit. Not that you’d want to if you worked here.
