Some Pictures of Facebook’s Menlo Campus

  • Facebook recently began moving employees from their Palo Alto office space, which was an amazing space built by Studio O+A, to their new campus in Menlo Park (the old Sun campus), which is being completed by Gensler. Gensler is also working on their new London space.

Interestingly enough, the Palo Alto space, while amazing looking, was actually done very frugally because Facebook knew it was only going to be a temporary solution. Project costs were kept to a minimum with furniture being the bulk of the purchasing, rather than costly construction labor.

These images probably don’t do the place justice, though they do give a glimpse of a few areas of the new office. Some of the design seems to be heavily influenced by Studio O+A’s Palo Alto style, with groupings of great looking furniture lumped throughout the office. There are also some standard open desking systems, with some nice drop cabling from the ceiling.

Another interesting feature is their new conference room scheduling system, which looks to be the Steelcase RoomWizard. These are great, but you’ll notice that there are also going to be plenty of impromptu meeting spaces tucked around the campus.

Anyway, hopefully we’re able to get some great architectural photos of the space once its all done to get a better idea of what it is like, but in the meantime, if you haven’t seen these already, enjoy!
