Alcatel-Lucent’s Hotdesking Wonderland (The Future of Work)
We’ve seen a number of projects recently that feature hotdesking – or the idea that employees are not assigned a desk, but rather choose from a variety of open work stations.
–Microsoft, Credit Suisse, and Unilever to be specific-
But this project for Alcatel-Lucent is unique in that the transition to this style of work came at the same time as the companies, who merged in 2006, were merging office space. The new office offers only 250 flexible work stations for it’s 450 employees and 90% of the walls are made of glass.
